Calling All Parents! Here's a Summer Project for Your Kids!

Summer is here! Today is the official start of summer, and we know you want to keep those young minds engaged. Here at PatrioticMe, we feel that patriotism starts at home, so we wanted to help you out by launching our first “PatrioticMe, Patriotic Youth” Essay Contest!

The topic is: “What does patriotism mean to me?”

It seems like a simple question, but it usually holds a different meaning for each person. The goal is to help our youth give thought to what some people take for granted. Every week, we get to share with you what patriotism means to us, and now we would like to hear it from the future of our country! This contest is an excellent opportunity for you to have a conversation with your kids and then have them put it to paper. You may be surprised by their answers!

Here are the rules:

There will be three age categories, and there will be one winner per age category.

The age groups and associated length of essays are as follows:

6 through 8 years old – up to 50 words
9 through 11 years old – up to 100 words
12 through 14 years old – up to 250 words

The deadline for submission will be August 15, 2021, and the winners will be announced on August 20, 2021.

Now the fun part! Prizes! Each winner will receive a limited edition t-shirt (which you will hear more about in the coming weeks), a $30 store credit at PatrioticMe, and a donation of $100 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in their honor!

So let's kick off the summer, have some family fun and also remember what makes this country of ours so great!

Submission requirements:

All entries must be original work from the youth and submitted in English by email to info@patrioticme.com.

All entries must include the following information:

Parent/Guardian Name
Youth First Name
Age of Youth
Parent/Guardian Phone
Parent/Guardian Email
Title of Entry
Parent/Guardian Permission: By submitting this essay, we agree to the contest’s rules and allow this entry to be printed or shared by PatrioticMe.

Copyright in all submissions to the competition remains with the respective entrants. However, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual license to PatrioticMe to feature any or all of the submissions in any of its publications, its websites, and/or in any promotional material.
